JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern:

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2018 is India’s largest and most popular engineering entrance exam which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.

JEE Main 2018 consist of two papers, Paper 1 will be for engineering aspirants and Paper 2 of JEE Main 2018 will be conducted for architecture aspirants.

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern

Paper 1: Engineering Entrance Exam for B.E. / B.Tech.

Paper 2: Architecture Entrance Exam for B.Arch. / B. Planning

Mode of Examination 

JEE Main 2018 Examination will be conducted in two different modes, Online Mode (Computer Based Exam) and offline Mode (Pen – Paper-based Examination). Students can opt for one of the two modes of examination.

  • Online Examination: Paper 1 (B.E. / B.Tech Examination) will be conducted in the Online mode as well as offline mode.
  • Offline Mode (Pen – Paper Based Examination): Students can opt for offline mode of examination for Paper 1 and Paper 2
  • Question Paper Medium: – English / Hindi / Gujarati

Note: Paper 2 (B.Arch Exam) will be conducted only offline mode, you cannot select the online mode for Paper 2

Marking Scheme

All the questions in JEE Main 2018 Paper 1 will be objective type question. Each question will be having 4 options for an answer but there will be only one correct response for each question (Single Choice Question).  JEE Main 2018 aspirants have to select the one answer from the 4 options.

  • Each Question of JEE Main 2018 Paper 1 will be carrying 4 Marks. You will be awarded 4 marks for each right answer.
  • Negative marking: ¼ of the total marks for each question will be deducted if your selected answer will be wrong.
  • Note: No deduction from total score will be done if no answer will be selected or question left is not solved.
